The town of Strážné lies in the unique area right in the heart of Krkonoše mountains, 6 km from Vrchlabí, in the altitude of 800 m a.s.l. The town itself has only 200 inhabitants but during the winter and summer seasons it changes to a true holiday mountain resort. During the summer season it offers a lot of interesting possibilities to its visitors. It is the ideal starting point for hiking and cycling tourism. Within a short range from the town of Strážné the routes of Krkonoše cycle buses can be found. During the winter season the deep valleys equipped with cableways and ski lifts are ideal for downhill skiing. This area also provides ideal conditions for cross country skiing. Within about 12 km range it is possible to visit Špindlerův Mlýn, Pec Pod Sněžkou or Sněžka, the highest mountain in Krkonoše.
